Our Cocoa Content

This week Moo Free Chocolates would like to talk about the cocoa content of our chocolate.

As you may or may not know all our cocoa mass comes from the Dominican Republic, specifically the San Francisco de Macoris area. If you’re interested in reading further, we have a blog post you can sink your teeth into - Where our Cocoa comes from.

As for the actual cocoa content, we use a lot more than say a standard dairy bar, for example a Cadbury Twirl has about 25% cocoa in each bar altogether. The Moo Free product with the lowest cocoa amount is our Fruit & Nut bar at 36% whereas our highest is the new marvellously moreish Dark 85 bar.

But what are the benefits to having more cocoa in our product? Well apart from a higher quality and richer taste there are some medical benefits as well. Moo Free would like to remind customers that we are not doctors/dietitians, so please seek a professional opinion before including our products in any diets.

The benefits found within cocoa include:

  • Better blood circulation
  • Lower blood pressure
  • Improved cholesterol
  • Potent antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties due to high polyphenols – in particular flavanols - count within cocoa itself
  • Improving your mood

It is worth noting that the more cocoa a product has the better the benefits, e.g. darker chocolate will yield better results than lighter one i.e. milk or white chocolate.

Moo Free Chocolates are free from dairy, gluten, wheat, lactose, casein and soya. We’re also vegetarian and vegan friendly.

We hope you’ll try one of our products today.
